Here are 6 Facts About Burj Khalifa Tower Dubai and information about the Burj Khalifa entrance fee.

6 Interesting Facts About Burj Khalifa Tower Dubai

Burj Khalifa is Two Times Taller Than The Empire State Building.

Standing about 2716.5 feet tall, the Burj Khalifa stole the title of “world’s tallest building” from Taipei’s Taipei 101, which held the record at 1667 feet in height from 2004 to 2010. While many other massive structures have been constructed since then, none have managed to surpass the landmark in Dubai. Taipei 101, meanwhile, ranks as the world’s 10th tallest building.

The Burj Was Built-in 5 Years.

Building the Burj Khalifa was a major undertaking that needed the assistance of about 12,000 staff a day at its height. That helps understand how the ambitious project was constructed in a fairly short time: excavation work on the building began in January 2004 and construction on the exterior of the building was finished in October of 2009. It officially opened on 4 January 2010 to the public.

The Burj Has an Impressive Art Collection.

Any construction as large as the Burj Khalifa is bound to have plenty of wall space to fill. All in all, the building’s art collection is huge: more than 1000 pieces are hanging inside the property by some of the world’s best-known artists (with an emphasis on Middle Eastern artists)—many of them commissioned specifically for the building.

Burj Khalifa has One of The Fastest Elevators in The World.

It makes sense that the tallest building in the world will need to keep its visitors going, and fast. Although it does not hold the record for the fastest elevator, it is reportedly ranked 3rd (moving at 22 mph). Moving from the ground floor to the observation deck on the 124th floor needs only one minute.

The Burj was Designed to a Style of a Lily flower.

The building was planned by Adrian Smith, the architect behind the Burj Khalifa, to imitate the Spider Lily, a regional desert flower. This is one of the defining aspects of the Burj and makes the Burj a beautiful sight to behold. Although this design might not be seen by the naked eye, it can be seen from above the tower.

Burj Khalifa is Home to Many World Records.

The Burj Khalifa is indeed the tallest building in the world. But, it is home to other world records as well. Some of these world records include the world’s tallest freestanding structure, the highest number of stories, and the highest occupied floor. This impressive structure keeps breaking records from how massive it is.

Burj khalifa Might not Stay as The Tallest Building in The World.

Although the Burj Khalifa has enjoyed a nearly 10-year run as the world’s tallest building, some competition is about to come from yet another Dubai construction project. Construction on the Jeddah Tower started in 2013, towering over the Burj Khalifa by an estimated 236 feet if it ever opens.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed by 2020 but was plagued by a series of building setbacks and other issues that have slowed development. It’s scheduled to be completed in 2023, giving the Burj Khalifa a few more years to wear the “world’s biggest” crown.
