Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, voted one of the world’s ‘Top 100 Must-Play Golf Courses’, is a resort that incorporates an 18 hole championship golf course, a 9 hole Par 3 course, golf academy, six restaurants and bars, gymnasium, tropical swimming pool, the 225-bedroom Park Hyatt Dubai, 92 residential executive villas and a 121-berth marina.
The Dubai Creek Course is close to the heart of the city, set upon 200 acres of land on the banks of the Creek. It is well known for its distinctive sail-like clubhouse that is set dramatically against the Dubai skyline. The 18-hole championship course has also played host to the PGA European Tour Desert Classic in 1999 and 2000. The course is maintained to the highest of standards and with the addition of some internal lakes and tropical foliage it really is a beautiful setting. The course had just undergone some renovation and redesign that have improved it even further. The course is simply stunning and as the name would suggest, many of the holes run alongside the water’s edge of Dubai Creek. The UK magazine Golf World even voted the course as one of the top 100 that must be played in the world.
In terms of spectacular holes the 5th, 6th, 17th and 18th are all right up against the water edge and really take your breath away. However, my personal favourite was the par 5 thirteenth where you are questioned as to whether to have a crack at the green in two or layup, the dilemma arises as the green is in fact an island surrounded by water and accessed by a footbridge.
The other great thing about the Dubai Creek complex is that once the sun goes down that is not the end of the story! They have a fantastic par 3 course, driving range and practice facilities that are all floodlit to allow for evening golf! The 9-hole Par 3 course is ideal golfers of all levels who want to work on their short game. It is floodlit until 10pm and provides a fun and social golfing alternative for families, friends and colleagues.
There is still more though! The Dubai Creek complex is also home to the first Golf Academy in the region with PGA Professionals on hand to help out with your learning. The Academy is packed with top of the range equipment and they also have a special program for kids.
When all your golfing is done you can sit back and enjoy the facilities on offer. The complex includes the 5* Park Hyatt Dubai, a 121 berth marina, and a yacht club house and with no less than 6 awards winning restaurants within the complex.
